Ian is the director of Wanstead Health and Fitness Studio and senior Physiotherapy practitioner of Ian Edwards physiotherapy based at the studio. He qualified from the University of Hertfordshire in 1999 and later returned to complete his Masters in 2005 and Diploma in Injection Therapy in 2011. Ian has over 15 years experience having worked in both the private and public sector and continues to work as an Extended Scope Practitioner in the NHS involving highly-specialised treatment and management of complex musculoskeletal conditions. Ian also has extensive experience with injury rehabilitation for elite athletes and works on a consultancy basis with many local sports clubs and groups.
Alex qualified from the University of Hertfordshire In 2005. Since qualifying Alex has worked in the NHS for Basildon, Hornchurch and now Southend Foundation Trust. Alex currently works as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a special interest in Spinal Injuries. He has also worked previously within a high level rugby club. Alex has completed several postgraduate courses enhancing his Manual Therapy skills and is currently working towards a Masters in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy and membership of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Following consecutive serious knee injuries during a year as a professional rugby player with Harlequins, completed a Bsc (Hons) in physiotherapy at Brunel University in 2009. Steve currently works as a senior physiotherapist in Barking and Dagenhan NHS with keen interests in sporting knee injuries and rehabilitation as well as pain physiology. Steve has attended a variety of courses and is soon to commence a MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Martina qualified in 2004 with a BSc(hons) physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire and started working for Barking Havering and Redbridge Trust from September 2004. Martina chose quickly to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and began working for Barking and Dagenham PCT where she still works part time. She joined Ian Edwards Physiotherapy in April 2011.
Martina has experience in treating acute, chronic and a variety of post operative conditions and is a skilled manual therapist. She regularly attends postgraduate training in diagnosis, treatment skills and rehab to ensure the best for her patient and to further her professional development. She is interested in keeping people active whatever their age and physical activity and returning them to full function.
